Is There Anyone God Can’t Help? — This Sunday, May 3

This Sunday at Valley Church of Christ, we are working through a question that almost everyone has wondered at some point: is there anyone God cannot help? Most of us assume the people who are too far gone are the ones who have done too much. The Bible tells a different story.

What to Expect

The sermon centers on the parable of the Pharisee and the publican going up to the temple to pray (Luke 18:9–14). Two men, two prayers, two very different outcomes — and the difference had nothing to do with how much either of them had done. It had to do with whether they were willing to be honest about where they actually were.

The person God can’t help isn’t the one who has racked up a long list of failures. It’s the one who refuses to be honest about them. Brutal, honest transparency — paired with real accountability — is what opens the door for God to do something with us. Self-righteousness slams it shut.
